John Haese

John Haese is Acting Chief Executive at Infrastructure SA, where he leads strategic infrastructure advice to Government, including long-term planning, major project assessment and investment prioritisation. In this role, he provides independent, evidence-based advice to the South Australian Government on infrastructure planning, investment and prioritisation. He oversees the State’s 20-Year Infrastructure Strategy, focusing on opportunities in energy, resources, freight and water.

With an already unprecedented infrastructure pipeline and increasing demands from AUKUS, population growth and industrial transformation, the role for Infrastructure SA to support evidence and risk-based decisions is more important than ever to ensure that we maximise value for our public investment.

He is an experienced leadership professional across a diverse range of sectors within the built environment including operational and technical management. He provides strategic leadership, based upon strong communication and collaborative approaches, coupled with an ability to grasp technical concepts and issues to achieve desired outcomes.

Projects where John has played a critical role in establishing a high-functioning and high-performance team include Royal Adelaide Hospital integrated Program Management Office (iPMO), New RAH Project, interim Program Director, Outer Harbour Channel Widening Project and RAH PPP Project – Acting Director, Major Projects Office. John has worked for extended periods embedded in client project teams and offices, taking on leadership of both project team and client teams.

John brings deep experience in both the public and private sectors. He has held senior roles at Arup including Adelaide Office Leader, Senior Associate and Project and Program Director, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Project Management from the University of South Australia.
