Tenders will be called shortly to procure suitably qualified consultants (such as architects, engineers and planners) to prepare plans for the new facilities including two sound studios and for the reuse and upgrade of appropriate existing heritage buildings together with a detailed layout of the site. The design and detailed planning is expected to commence in July and completed in time to allow for statutory process (e.g. development approval, Public Works Committee reporting) and construction to commence in the first half of 2009.

A positive planning framework for the Glenside Campus Master Plan’s Structure Plan (including the area for the Adelaide Film and Screen Centre) can be achieved through a Development Plan Amendment process. This process includes public consultation.

The hub project team will work closely with the Department of Health and the Glenside staff to put in place an effective and efficient plan to manage the transition of the existing users and their activities.

It is anticipated that all works will be completed by the second half of 2010.
